‘Tis the season of giving! – Unwrap my special gift to you, plus some ingenious ways to use your photos this festive season!

Happy birthday to me!

It’s my business birthday! Yep, It’s officially three years of Jessica Sharp Photography. Oh my, how it has flown! I wanted to start with a huge thank you to every single person that books sessions with me, comes back and continually recommends me, and of course my avid social media followers who give me feedback and inspiration – you make my job a joy and it fills my heart with gratitude.

For those that don’t know, before starting Jessica Sharp Photography, for 11 years, I worked in TV production. It was whilst I was pregnant with my daughter Arabella, that I knew that balancing a TV career and a baby would be tricky. It was only when I took Arabella for a newborn photography session that I fell in love with the whole photography process and had my ‘light bulb moment’ to re-train. Arabella was three months old when I started training and nine months old when I launched.

I may have left the spray-tanned and sequin clad celebrities of Strictly Come Dancing and the epicurean antics of Come Dine with Me behind, but I feel that my background certainly comes in useful for my photo shoots – think ‘ooh’ inducing outfits, the scene setting and

delicious cakes! Three years later it’s been the best career change I could have ever made, my business is growing and I’m now a mum of two with my son Iggy arriving earlier this year. Meeting wonderful families, babies, dogs and seeing lots and lots of cake (which I don’t get to eat!) has made my ‘life through a lens’ just so magical.

As a big thank you, I want to share my success with my photo families. To celebrate three years of Jessica Sharp photography, when you book a portrait or lifestyle session this month (October) for anytime in 2020 and 2021 you will receive double portraits. I can’t wait to get

snapping!

From one celebration to another, and lets face it, we all need some Christmas vibes in 2020 to keep our spirits bright!

This year’s gorgeous vintage Christmas sessions have been a hit. I’m blessed to have clients that come back year after year to do the Christmas mini shoots with me. Christmas photos are such amazing keepsakes and there’s a ton of clever ideas that mean your photos can live beyond the Christmas card.

It won’t surprise you that I’m a photo-gift giver (perks of the job and all that). If you’re looking for some festive inspiration for your photos see my handy list of gifts to make or buy. Whatever you do, don’t let your photos sit on your computer this Christmas!

1. Christmas Cards

My clients often use their mini Christmas shoot photos on Christmas cards for that personal touch – like cranberry sauce and turkey, Christmas photos are the perfect accompaniment to the perfect Christmas message. With Photobox and Snapfish offering amazing deals it’s easy to upload your image into some beautiful deign templates. Cards they’ll want to keep forever.

2. Cute Christmas Decorations for your own home

If you’re a festive do-it-yourselfer or Pinterest addict like me, why not create your own cute hanging display filled with this years festive photo! Snaps of your loved ones hung with twine, from garlands over your fireplace or hung down your staircase help create that unique homely feel and adds the personal, creative touch to your decorations.

3. Baubles and tree decorations

Whether you choose traditional glass or novelty, photo baubles add an eye-catching touch to your tree and make a lovely gift for grandparents. Made it a tradition and do one every year! A wonderful keepsake of how they’ve grown. You’ll love seeing them each year as you decorate the tree.

4. From furnishings to footwear

Cushions, coasters, blankets, jigsaws and even socks, all can be personalised with amazing crisp imagery – forget the pixelated tragedies of the past. Etsy is a treasure trove of ideas for gift givers who love that personal touch. If you want to get something extra special, a digital photo frame offers a rotating montage of memories that can be enjoyed (and updated) really

easily. Perfect to give to those loved ones that you’ve been missing or if you’re like me and simply cant choose which photos you like the best!
