Family, Fun & photography - 7 things I’ve absolutely loved this 2020!

It’s Chriiiiiiiiiiistmas!!

Whilst 2020 is the year that’ll go down in history for all the wrong reasons, there are some good things that have happened this year. For instance - Mariah Carey waited 26 years and is finally number 1 if that doesn’t give you hope, I don’t know what will!

The nights are now getting darker, Fleet is festooned with fairy lights and I’m ready to don my Christmas jumper and grab a mug of mulled wine! There’s something about this time of year that makes everyone want to curl up on the sofa and reflect somewhat sagely on the year gone by.

As we count down to Christmas and think of all our family, friends and colleagues, I wanted to share a snapshot of some of my favourite memories from this year and some of the fantastic people (and animals) I’ve had the pleasure of snapping.

The biggest and most important addition to 2020 was the birth of my son Ignatius or Iggy as he’s now fondly called. He arrived in February, a fantastic 6lb12oz of gorgeousness! It’s been a wonderful time, becoming a family of four, Arabella is the most amazing a big sister and Christmas is going to be such glorious chaos! Newborn babies are such a delight and I’ve had the pleasure of shooting so many wonderful newborn studio or newborn lifestyle sessions for mums in Fleet. Here are a few that have simply melted my heart.

Lockdown. It’s been tough. One of my most rewarding and inspiring projects was raising money for the Trussell Trust. You may recall when we were in the first lockdown I walked the length and breadth of Fleet taking socially distanced doorstep photos. I met the most wonderful families and saw such together-ness when we were forced to be apart.

I raised a total of £1030 through the donations. I still get teary when I watch the montage video! You can watch it here

As many of you know, alongside my newborn and lifestyle photography, I love doing pet portraits! I teamed up with the fantastic dog café in Fleet, Cantine, to offer a fine art dog portrait. The winner Evie was a gorgeous 17 month Cockapoo who likes chasing birds and

muddy puddles but hates bath time. What a character! I’m teaming up with Cantine again for the Christmas outfit competition!

Here are a few other pawsome pooches that have made me smile this year!

I’ve been thrilled to capture some birthday milestones too! I want to give a shout out to Cakey Heaven who made all of my cake smash cakes. Not only do they look amazing but they also taste delicious! It’s always great when after a smash session the parents salvage some cake to actually eat! From baby blue, sunshine yellow to full Rainbows, its been delicious fun!

Last month I told you I was offering 7 limited edition fine art sessions starting from Saturday 16th January. These dramatic, timeless portraits are wonderful heirloom pieces. I just love the look and feel of this photography and can’t wait to get snapping in January. You can book now via this link. Remember there are only 7 slots available so don’t miss out.

Here are a few of the portraits I’ve captured recently

Christmas minis are one of my FAVOURITE shoot events. Everyone is so jolly and cute! My Christmas competition winner was Theo! He totally rocked the Christmas session and his outfit was gorgeous!

I’ve been getting all the Christmassy vibes from this collection of wonderfully happy sessions and its been sooooooooo much festive fun. It’s amazing to see what my clients have done with the photos, from bespoke baubles to Christmas cards and coasters! They do make the most memorable gifts.

7. P L A N N I N G 2021

You will know by now that I love to run competitions and you’ll be pleased to hear I’ve got some really special things planned for 2021. Why not get the inside scoop and sign up to my mailing list where I’ll give you a heads up on all my up coming competitions and offers?

Think “Mummy & Me” mini sessions for Mothers Day, Bluebells and Lavender. It’s going to be awesome! You really don’t want to miss it!

Shhh I’m going to have a special discount for my subscribers too. So if you know you’re going to get some photos done next year or you think you might, sign up now to get the discount code! It’s for a limited time only.

I want to end with a big heartfelt THANK YOU to every one of my clients and those fabulous people that support me and follow me online. It’s been a hard year for photographers but I’m excited about the year ahead!

Whilst I’ll be taking Christmas off as a professional photographer, I’ll still be capturing those essential shots of Christmas (Check out my last blog if you missed it).

So crack open the Baileys, or whatever Christmas drink or cocktail is your favourite. I hope you have the merriest of Christmases and I look forward to seeing you in 2021!

Love
